Pipettes, Robots, Keyboards

We believe that addressing the next challenges in human health requires tackling biological complexity head-on, which is why we are building a team where each member combines expertise in benchwork, lab automation, and bioinformatics to seamlessly integrate data-driven insights into experimental design.

Mushriq Al-Jazrawe, PhD

Mushriq Al-Jazrawe, PhD

Scientific Director

Mushriq completed his graduate studies at the University of Toronto in the Developmental & Stem Cell Biology program at the Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto). Moving to the Broad Institute as postdoc, he honed his computational skills to harness existing cancer datasets to formulate hypotheses for rare diseases. Now leading the HTS team, he is excited to apply this experience in building and harnessing next-generation biomedical datasets to tackle rare and underrepresented diseases. Mushriq is passionate about teaching and he is happiest when there's a whiteboard and a marker nearby.

Nicole Ostrovsky, MS

Nicole Ostrovsky, MS

Research Associate

Nicole received both her B.S. and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University. While at BU, she conducted computational drug discovery research with a focus on protein-protein interactions. Excited to continue participating in biological research, she is now at HTS where she is expanding her knowledge of drug development and exploring her other interests in immunotherapy and precision medicine. She is also preparing to pursue a PhD in the coming years to further her studies. Aside from science, Nicole loves to do yoga and try new restaurants in the city. Feel free to send her your best recommendations!

Ashley Ruehr, BSc

Ashley Ruehr, BSc

Research Associate

Ashley received her B.S. from Northeastern University, majoring in Biology and Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science. She worked at MEEI and MGH in the Edge and Kingston Labs, studying inner ear hair cell regeneration in mice. As a medical assistant in Orthopedic Oncology at MGH and a volunteer with the American Cancer Society, she gained a strong appreciation for cancer research. At HTS, she is interested in applying machine learning for personalized medicine research and exploring various research topics before embarking on a PhD. Outside of lab, Ashley loves running, rock climbing, knitting, and baking.
